BRNCH is a private mind mapping workspace for getting thoughts out of your head and into a shape you can actually use. It is being built for tablets first, with local storage at the centre and no account standing between you and your own maps.

Why BRNCH exists
Your thoughts do not need a subscription.
BRNCH started with a very ordinary frustration. Mind mapping should be a useful way to think, not another service asking for an account before you have even made the first branch.
The current build keeps maps on the device. There is no account, no advertising, no behavioural analytics and no subscription wall. The point is to give you a capable workspace and then get out of the way.

Focus
Step into a branch when the whole map gets noisy, then switch to presentation mode when the idea needs to be shown rather than edited.
Organise it
Bookmarks, priorities, tags, dates and quick capture help a map become something you can return to instead of something you forget you made.
Take it with you
Outline import and JSON backup and restore give you a practical route in and out. Your maps are not meant to become hostages.

Some thoughts start as a plan. Some start as one word in the middle of the screen and become a complete mess before they make sense. BRNCH is being built to handle both without turning the process into admin.
It is already running on real tablet hardware. We are still giving it more room to grow before we call it ready.
